SIDE TABLES & DRESSER
I found some side tables on marketplace that my client liked the look of but hated the finish. I stripped and sanded them down to bare wood first. I then used black accents to match the dresser she bought from me and sealed them so they wont take on water from glasses or spills.
Really fun project and a happy customer.

Hey there, I’m Matt Williams, the guy behind 101 Wood Designs. I’ve always had a passion for working with my hands, especially when it comes to bringing old furniture back to life. Whether it’s a worn-out dresser, a farmhouse table that’s seen better days, or a curio cabinet that needs some TLC, I take pride in finding the right approach for each piece to restore its natural beauty. My goal is to make sure your furniture not only looks great but fits right in with the style and feel of your home.
ANTIQUE BENCH
A customer brought in a bench that had been in her grandmother's house. It was covered in some nasty red paint, so I stripped the entire bench and sanded it to a nice smooth finish. She picked the stain and sealer and I got it looking deep and rich with a nice shine. This old piece and the memories that go with it are now protected for years to come.
It has since been re-upholstered and looks beautiful in her home.

Every piece I work on has its own story, and I do my best to honor that. I make small repairs where needed to keep the original structure intact and stay true to the design that makes it special. Whether you're wanting to restore an antique to its former glory or give it a fresh twist, I’m here to make sure the finished product fits both its past and your present.

LIVE EDGE PLANT STANDS
The smallest live edge piece came from a tree the customer cut off the first property they bought so it had sentimental value to them. I selected 2 more pieces and made her a set of plant stands using live edge walnut slabs and hairpin legs.

Along with refinishing furniture, I also create custom CNC designs for those looking to add a little something extra to their home. Whether it’s a personalized address sign, a charcuterie board, or even custom-made chairs and cabinets, I love helping folks bring their ideas to life. If you're looking for that perfect piece to match your home or need a favorite piece of furniture restored, we’ve got you covered at 101 Wood Designs.
HUTCH BOTTOM TURNED ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
I took this piece from a family-owned hutch. I sanded it all down to see what I had to work with. The customer wanted it painted a solid cream color, so that's what we did. I applied several coats of paint and clear coat to make sure it will be protected for years to come.

ABOUT US
My name is Matthew Williams and after an injury at work changed my life and physical limitations at 34, I was determined to find a new path. I fell into a woodworking apprenticeship on a whim and it truly became my passion. After much time creating and learning my style, I decided it was time to venture out on my own.
It was then that 101 Wood Designs came to be. Woodworking and restoration has become more than a job or hobby. It allowed me to continue to live and provide for my family in a way that I wasn’t sure I would be able to do after getting hurt. I appreciate every piece of work that comes through my shop no matter how small.
